Restart information on Vera
« on: August 18, 2018, 01:16:06 am »

I?m considering a LUA scene in UI7 with a lot of delays. (Because there is no command for starting a scene at a timestamp in the future)
After Vera going down and coming up again I like to continue the scene.
To provide for that I write every now and then the complete status information.
And in the Vera-startup file I provide a command to read the status information written.
NB: maybe I have to do this reading delayed by 30 seconds to have Vera come up completely.

My question now: where do I store the restart information so that I can write it safely and read it back again uncompromised? (It should survive  restart)
- I believe it could be done in a multiString?field like Variable1 (plugin multiString) ? But the contents of this field under devices and that under params are not immediately synchronized in general, I wonder whether that can have consequences when going down during synchronizing?.
- Using a flat file, where does it land in the file system and how can I view the file ?
- A luxery solution like a database seems a bridge to far and is not necessary.
