Garage Door Opener (Nutone, Linear) Category
« on: November 08, 2018, 02:25:01 pm »
Installed a Linear garage door opener with tilt sensor. All good, attached to Vera almost immediately.
Stupid, small problem - in Advance settings the unit is a Nutone (again, no problem), the LUUP category is 32 and the subcategory is 0.
Again all good, but WHY does the Garage Door Opener show as "UNKNOWN CATEGORY"?
If Vera knows the category and subcategory why would it not recognize it?
This is very pure OCD on my part but I really want to fix it!
Anyone else have a similar issue?
I know sometimes the categories are wrong for a device, but all seems correct here.
Thanks!

From the image, it looks like you have a room called "Unknown Category"
Usually when you see the device in the device section under a green line like that it is the room name on top of the line and the devices in that room below.
Also my garage door sub controler is a Telguard and it's "Category", (not Luup category) is 3 with a sub category of 5.
I may be totally off but this is all a bit confusing. Where did you grab this image from?

If you look at your list by device, rather than by room, you will see how each is categorized.
That is where the screenshot is from - my "Garage" room looks just like yours.
I received an email from support saying the Vera database needs to be updated.

Ahh yes I never use that sorting option. In doing so I see I have a bunch of devices that are not categorized, including the WWN add on. This is Vera's own add on and I am curious as to why they would not make a category for these types of virtual devices.
