Kudos to Additude for clear instructions and a fix that worked well for me with u17.  I'm now less of a luup virgin. 😃

Thanks attitude for the code! :D

Got it running but I am using it to check on a Schlage Deabolt (BE469NX).

I have Schlage Deadbolt device number in the luup code and can see the deadbolt id in the "variables" of the Battery Monitor but I do not see the Schleage Deadbolt when viewing the summery.

Any ideas?

I just installed Battery Monitor to give me a quick overview of my batteries. But I am keeping my scenes that send me an alert if a battery falls below 10%, to give me time to order a battery and replace it as I get time.

Hi

With the most recent UI7 firmware update (2 Feb 17) I seem to have lost any assessment of battery level. Also, I get a list of all devices, whether they're on batteries or not.

Update file names:
I_BatteryMonitor.xml
J_BatteryMonitor_UI7.js
J_BatteryMonitor.js

But in the Battery Plugin App still in the Params:
device_file - D_BatteryMonitor.xml
impl_file - I_BatteryMonitor.xml
device_json - D_BatteryMonitor_UI7.json

device_type - urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:BatteryMonitor:1

I think something is off.

Hi VallejoIII

Thanks for your help. The file names match what I have for the plugin. I updated the plugin but that didn't seem to make any difference.  Any ideas?

Anyone else having problems with not all battery units being detected? Is there now a better way of doing this with UI7?

I have a scene that triggers an Alert when a device battery is less than 5%. Veramate also has an icon that displays when a device has low battery.

Just for anyone interested, I made a few updates to Battery Monitor and they are in this attached zip file.

I can only test it in UI7 Vera Plus.

On 11-16-17 I updated the readme.txt file to be more descriptive.

I put the wrong LUUP Code file in my zip. I've replaced the "Scene LUUP Code.txt" file, which I was using for testing with the correct file, "Check Battery LUUP Code".txt

Basically the new firmware update will not allow a non character input to the Advanced>Variables and there is also the security threat of adding Non Numeric values to the Variables set.

The number Zero (0) is not a device number and there is also the possibility of adding '0' Undefined to the monitored lists.

I want to set it up to reject non-battery devices that are manually added to the Monitored Devices List but I'm out of time for right now.

I also set it up to update a version number, which is set on implementation, but is not updated with newer version releases.

Adding a new version to the code implementation and JS will update the version number reference.

If you want something that you have never had before, then you are going to have to do something that you have never done before.

Keep refreshing your browser pages and make sure you run the LUUP code that forces check for batteries. Be sure you change the device number at the end of that LUUP code.
