I've just received another key fob. This one is slightly different. The holes on the back now have a name (mode and learn). When I tried to connect this one to my Z-Wave network I had to push button 4 instead of button 3.

Hi All

I have just received one of the keyfobs and im having issues getting the scenes working after pairing it my zwave network.

I thought, possibly wrongly, that the keyfob worked in the same way the minimote does whereby you just allocate a scene to the reaquired button in the UI. But after reading many posts and now this one it would appear that I need to create yet another scene and assign the trigger to the keyfob button.

This seems crazy. This would potentially mean I have to create multiple scenes to do the same thing. i.e I have a scene to open the garage door which is already working perfectly with the 2 minimotes I have. To get the keyfob to open the garage door it would appear I need to create another scene to open the garage door and have this scene specifically for the keyfob. Is this right?

Thanks in advance

I've written a review of the Aeotec key fob here. It works well with the Vera Lite controller.

Nice!

Could you state the FW version used in Vera?

Do you have any other scene controllers / or multiple key fobs on that Vera; if so, does it work well?

Dezwaved at the moment...

Hi
Many thanks for the help in this topic. I got my Aeon Keyfob yesterday and initially had problems with it, after reading this topic I now have a working fob based on scenes. Next step is to tie into one of my PLEGs. Once again thank you for the help

The Aeon Keyfob works perfectly with my Lighting Control PLEG as trigger events, the scene activated and scene deactivated enable me to use SetTarget 1 and 0 for positive On and Off rather than Toggle.

FYI, that is a very old firmware version. I highly recommend that you upgrade to version 1.5.622. Information can be found in the public beta section.

Testing connection to download server ... OK
You are running the latest version: 1.5.408 .

I need stability not the latest features. I'd rather avoid beta releases and stick with the latest approved release. It does everything I need and has proved very stable.

I'm using the Key fob with version 1.5.622 and PLEG version 5.0 for controlling lights and having no problems.

Just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' for the tutorial, I tried three times with the manual that came with the remote with no success but with your directions I got it working first time!
Cheers,
Philip
p.s Has anyone tried (and if so is it possible) to detect multiple button presses using PLEG similar to the LightOn and (LightOff; LightOn < 10)
If no one has tried it, let me know and I'll give it a try

Directions listed below worked perfectly!  I never would of guessed the group # in Vera was the button # on the FOB.

Thanks!!

Has Anyone got the KeyFob working fully with PLEG?  I'm struggling with gettingbuttons 5-8 working. (scene deactivated)
Just tried a simple PLEG to Get button 1 to turn a light on and button 5 (press and hold button 1 down for 2 seconds until LED illuminates) to turn a light off.  Also (for test purposes) configured button 2 to turn light off.
Results:
button 1 turns light on
button 2 turns light off
button 5 does nothing.
I've attached a status report that shows how I have PLEG set up.

Any ideas on what I've done wrong?
Cheers,
Philip

EDIT:
I've tried to map buttons to scene numbers and get the following (number in bracket is scene number activated when button is held down for 2 seconds)
button 1 scene1 (scene3)
button 2 scene 2 (scene1)
button 3 scene 5 (nothing)
button 4 nothing (nothing)
VERY CONFUSED - does this indicate that I have a faulty keyfob or could vera lite be the issue?

EDIT2:
not far away from throwing the keyfob out of the window
Reset keyfob, removed device, added device and created new PLEG this time button 1 turns light on, button 1hold turns off, button 1 turns light on button 1hold does nothing.  You have to press button 4hold first then button 1hold will turn light off.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as it's looking more like a vera lite/PLEG issue now

Thanks to Mark at Vesternet I've been able to identify the following information
buttonLastSceneIDsl_SceneActivated
111
232
353
474
524
644
764
884
Which from what I've read in this post is not what everyone else is seeing.  I'm lost!
