IM to tech support
« on: November 08, 2008, 09:53:42 pm »
To micasaverde:
when you ask to call you to open an access or to give an info - why wouldn't you guys make yourself reachable over instant messenger, gtalk for example? Sometimes calling is not a convenient option...

I vote for Skype.  Voice or IM.

That would be useless for me.
I removed Skype from all my computers and don't want to go back

I don't have gtalk.  Can it be configured to work with iChat?

My assumption was that, since the call is free ( 866-966-casa is toll-free ), the phone was the one thing everybody had and would be easiest to use, as opposed to IM where there's no real consensus on which is universally used (yahoo, skype, google, etc.)

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the use case...  When would calling not be a convenient option, but IM would?  I would think the phone is the only thing we always have access to...

Anyway, I'm always on Yahoo messenger, and my alias is: micasaverde803  and you can use im or voice

Mostly personal preference.  I hate talking on the phone.  I'd rather send an IM or email.

Never had Yahoo user, but now I do :)
When I can call from home it's usually too late, and during the day IM is often more appropriate and discreet.

A user pointed us to PingBox, so we'll put that on the site so you can reach us with live chat without installing yahoo im.
