I'm wondering about how this firmware will work with the VeraLite.  I have a Veralite that I have not been able to update due to space issues.  I'm curious what the new firmware footprint is compared to the existing?  I'm currently on 1.7.963 and running only the BlueIris plugin.  I have a VeraPlus for the rest of my needs.
I have a G which is about the same as the lite as far as I know, and I gave up a few updates back.  I was considering upgrading when they got bought out.  Now I need to see what the newer hardware looks like.  The info on the Atom is pretty scarce right now.  Looks like we should know fairly soon.

I have a Vera 3.  Here is how I update:
1) Do a full backup with z-wave.
2) Factory reset the controller.
3) Update the firmware.
4) Restore from backup with z-wave.

I just updated Friday night to get a new Zooz sensor to include.
Vera 3, 1.7.1040, CT101, Everspring Motion, GE/Jasco Switch/Dimmer, Leviton outlet, AeonLabs sensor, NuTone garage door, Blue Iris, Sricam SP011, iPhone locator, APCUPSD, VeraMate, VeraAlerts, PLEG, House Modes, Countdown Timer, DVR, Virtual/Multi Switch, LB60Z-1 bulb, Hue, Alexa, Zooz 4-1

Guy's, is Vera going to add Zigbee 3.0 support in this release?

I just bought a Zigbee 3.0 smart-socket to act as a range extender for my blinds only to discover it doesnt seem to work (aside from pairing) with my Vera Plus.

I didn't read the specs but I wonder if ZigBee 3.0 is software only or if it requires new hw.

I believe ZigBee 3 is essentially ZigBee LL and HA merged into one standard. I am guessing the controllers query device properties and use that to decide if they should use the LL or HA commands if the device isn't natively zigbee3.

I believe Hue only added support for ZigBee 3 devices in the lighting/switch profiles. This is a lot less work than managing an upgrade with the full HA profile space.

The hardware is IEEE 802.15.4-2011 or newer.

Hi Sorin,

Do you happen to know if the ssl lib version will be updated to 0.7 (now 0.5.PR), and the luup.inet.request call will be fixed (now is a sure reload trigger)?

Cheers Rene

2xVeraLite, VeraEdge, openLuup, ALTUI, 20 switches, 10 dimmers, 20 sensors, 10 scene controllers, 1 Harmony Hub, many plug-ins. Not enough time.

Upcoming 7.29 Core Firmware Release - Advanced Notice

We are working on a major release, our first since being acquired by Ezlo Innovation. It contains both systematic improvements, as well as several new device integrations.
We will release the 7.29 Beta version by end of March, and the full release is targeted for early April 2019.

I cannot stand waiting.... any news?

Hi Renee,

I've reported luup.inet.request back in August 2018 when you reported it here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,103146.msg413878.html#msg413878 and to some extent it should be already present in existing Vera firmware. But I don't find anything reported about the "sure reload trigger" and if you have some more details or logs, please let me know so I can report.

Hi Sorin,

Even if you try the example in the Wiki with the headers it will cause a luup reload on my Lite and Edge both running the latest firmware.

But, here is my latest example forcing a reload with luup.inet.request:
Code: [Select]
local myUrl = 'https://msg.volkswagen.de/fs-car/core/auth/v1/VW/GB/token'
local HEADERS = {
        ['accept'] = 'application/json',
        ['x-app-name'] = 'eRemote',
        ['clientid'] = 'CarNetApp',
        ['x-app-version'] = '4.6.1',
        ['user-agent'] = 'okhttp/3.7.0'
}
local request_body = {
                                ['grant_type'] = 'password',
                                ['username'] = CARNET_USERNAME,
                                ['password'] = CARNET_PASSWORD
                        }

local stts, bdy, cde = luup.inet.request({
                        url=myUrl,
                        follow = false,
                        timeout = 15,
                        headers = HEADERS,
                        data = request_body
        })
print('curl : '..(stts or -99))
print('status : '..(cde or -99))
print('response : '..(bdy or ""))

return true) <0x720f6520>

2019-03-22 12:37:23 - LuaUPnP Terminated with Exit Code: 250

I must say that also with the standard LUA libaries (socket, ssl.https) this is not working due to the LuaSec lib version on the Vera's. On a lite I can put this in a curl command, but have to use the --insecure option, on an Edge even that does not work. On a PI with LuaSec 0.7 and openLuup an https.request works like a charm.

Cheers Rene

Any chance we can get a bit more information about up and coming Google Home Integration?  Is it going to be simple scene control only?  The reason I ask is that broadcasting thru the Google Home would also be a very cool ability to have.
