Hello Dave. I hope you don't have the same problem that I ended up having.

Jared

Thanks Jared.

I don't think that's it, because I twisted the ring and the AC shut right down. I suppose that if its an intermittent short, that would still happen, but I suspect that it may be a fault in my automation.

I will definitely keep this in mind though!

Dave

I can't look at the source code right now and my Internet signal is very weak, but it's not impossible that there is something up in the plugin because it has to do some fancy footwork regarding setpoints depending on the current HVAC mode. There is only one effective setpoint in heat and cool modes.

However, please try to rule out your automation and I will look over the code as soon as possible.

Regards,
watou

Hi Watou - I checked, and I don't think it was in my automation.

I had distinct heating and cooling setpoints that I set through scenes, but I didn't change mode or other settings.  I don't adjust any settings through Luup, but I do query data for Datamine and directly through Luup for Thingspeak.  (I have no timers or automation through the Nest itself.)

To be safe, I've removed all automation and will see what happens.  I'll post here if I find anything noteworthy.

Cheers!
Dave

watou,

First of all, thank you very much for the nest plugin.  I love it, I need it.

Second, apologies if this is not the right forum for this question.

Third, the question: the current temperature as displayed by the Nest devices in my Vera Lite (Nest plugin 1.5) is way out of date (by hours or days -- I really don't think it updates regularly, at least when the Nest is "away".  My update period is set to the default 120 seconds.

Is this a known problem, if not, is there anything I can help with?

Thanks in advance

Check out this thread:  http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,23979.msg165631.html#msg165631

There was apparently an "API" change the other day (in quotes because there really isn't a formal API publish by Nest/Google yet) .

Version 1.5 should fix it or you can upload the referenced XML file.
