Determining where I am
« on: March 09, 2013, 12:54:52 am »
Hi everyone, I'm back with another noob question.

I've been thinking about how I want my system to work and what would be needed for that and have come to the conclusion that in order to get any for of automation that is of actual use I need vera to know where I am. If for instance I am in the bedroom I might want to automatically switch of the light in the living room, and then switch it back on when I walk into the living room.
So knowing I am home is not accurate enough, somehow Vera needs to know in which room I am.
I could put motion sensors in, but those require motion (duh) and would thus be very inaccurate and I don't want to have to wave at the sensor in the middle of watching a movie.
I don't mind taking a tag of some sort with me into the room I am in though (or my phone?).

Another important piece of info is that I cannot put any new cabling in, so whatever it is needs to work wireless.

Hope you guys and girls have some idea on how to do this.
