Yes I would love to get/create a plugin for RTH9580WF1005.  The lack of integration with Vera is the only thing holding me back.  I got me list down to Nest and RTH9580WF1005.  But I really like the hardware of Honeywell.  Nest is to simple, too appleish.  I want more info in person and on phone.  Why can we not have both?  :)  I signed up for API as well.  Never created micasaverde plugin before, but will jump in if I have time.

I wish they would as well.  I already have 2 thermostats installed in the house...now that I have the Vera I would like to see it all fall in line

I really liked some of the Nest things, but when they started rolling out some bad firmware and causing issues when people needed to heat their homes I didn't like how they handled that situation. Now that they are a owned by Google that was it for me. Pulled it off the wall and sold it. One of the things that was cool though about  Nest thermostat was the plug in for the Vera. I lost all that now and really hope that someone can do something for the Honeywell. I especially liked the ability for the heat/AC to shut off if a door or window was opened for 5 mins!

Is this the correct API for this stat?  https://github.com/gotwalt/redlink

I too have this thermostat and would love to see a plugin to integrate it with Vera

It appears to be a valiant effort to build an API by possibly reverse engineering observed traffic flows (or via some other source of information, I don't know).  It does not appear to be the official API that I am still waiting to learn about.  Without an official API, gotwalt's work could evolve into a base from which a Vera plugin could potentially be written.  Ideally, an official, documented API would be a better starting point.

Someone also seems to have gone a little further in Python

Though, this may break when honeywell changes their web interface

Hi
Thank you for your interest in Honeywell Comfort Control API.  At this point we are in a Beta phase of our API with specific partners.  We want to make sure to stabilize the Beta environment before adding anyone else.
As soon as we can add more partners I will let you know.
If you need more information or have questions, please contact me.  I am the marketing channel manager for the Comfort Control API and I work with the product managers to make this happen.
Thank you
Sergio

Is there any word on this yet?
I've had the Honeywell WiFi Thermostat for over a year.  I like it  -but would like to control it from my Vera and take the control away from someone standing in front of the unit.  Would love a plug in for this ---

I have 3 of these thermostats. I Love them. I picked them up on Amazon for $139 like new. Easy to read with Remote access network clock setting and weather on the color touchscreen. Is anyone working on a way to control these WIFI thermostats with the Vera. So far my vera has been very much of a cool thing that does little without spending 10x the normal  price for things like ouitlets and light switches. More WIFI type plug ins would be useful especially with the new GE LINK light bulb coming out which will really shake the very expensive zwave and insteon markets

I am surprised that they haven't yet released their API.  We are talking thermostats... anyway, I am anxiously waiting as well.  I don't see why I should need to spend another $100 to get the Zwave version of the same thermostat :-(  Hopefully there is good news soon.

Still no love in the API area? Maybe a hack like the thermostat json code is the way to go for now?

Brad updated his code this weekend to work with an update to the Honeywell website. I can run the python script he posts on my Raspberry Pi and my Thermostat responds!
I just don't know enough to do much more than that....lol
