ok help me out people.   I literally just got vera lite and I had the Honeywell zwave model.  I read some things here and got lost.

1. why isn't there a control on the vera interface to just run this in auto mode.?  There is off, cool, hot.   Am I missing something?
2. someone mentioned that this thermostat has an online interface?  how do I access that?  I didn't see anything in the instruction manual that showed that...is it a different model?
3.  Can I set this one to trigger off if a window is left open for a period of time? then to reactivate if all windows are closed?

Thanks in advance,
Robin

Robin, as far as the "Auto" setting goes, does it show up on the thermostat?

If it does then try repairing, if it doesn't then you need to configure the stat to include "Auto" as one of the choices

Read the Installation manual, not Users manual, that came with your stat and it will tell you how to enter the config menu by holding down a couple of buttons, then go to option 300 i think it is and set to 1

This thermostat does not do any online stuff at all besides vera
your choices when purchasing a stat are vera or WiFi, not both that i know of

You can do some custom programming if your interested, i found it a bit of a steep learning curve but just persevere, you'll get it.

Is anyone actually working on this? It looks like they got it working on smartthings:
http://community.smartthings.com/t/honeywell-smart-wi-fi-thermostat-compatibility/602/127

And HomeDepot lists this as being compatible with their Wink System.

I'd love one of our brilliant developers to come up with a working plugin for this.. we would finally have a modern, attractive thermostat other than the nest to use with Vera!
VeraPlus UI7, 1xEcho, 5xEcho Dots, 2xEcobee3, 8xGE 12724, 4x GE 12730, 2xMYQ Openers, 3xGE 12720, 1xGE 12719 7xGE 12722, BlueIris, 5xVaried Cams, Tasker, AutoVera

This wifi thermostat also works with Revolv. Really hope we have a plugin for Vera soon.

ALL:  With considerable help from mvader, I have been able to successfully authenticate a login using a vera device to the honeywell total control comfort api.

I am going to attempt to develop a Honeywell WiFi plug-in.

I am in the early stages right now just putting together a shell of a device just to make sure I can do basic retrieving of data and changing a setting.

I'll let you know when I have reached any progress milestones.   :)

If you need a volunteer for beta, I'm available.  I'm running UI7, so I'm used to beta  ;)

Hi all,

I have a version that I would now consider a beta, posted here.

If you need instructions on how to manually install the files, see here..  (just use the zip file from the first link).

If you have comments / issues, please post them in the thread from the first link.  This should work with UI5 or UI7.

Good luck! :)

You sir, are the man. Ive got it up and running now, and it seems to be reporting back temps and letting me change the set point without any issues. I'll do more testing when I get home... but this is awesome!

Will this plugin work with the Honeywell RTH8580WF1007 also? I am interested in buying one but, the lack of control through the Vera is making me hesitant.

It should, since it utilizies Total Connect Comfort web service for remote access.

I just submitted version 1.0 to the app store today, so hopefully early next week it will be live.
