Tenvis IP Camera
« on: September 15, 2013, 11:27:10 am »
Hello,
I am trying to add tenvis JPT3815W 2013 ip camera to vera lite.

I choose "manually add", enter snapshot url (http://192.168.1.239:81/media/?action=snapshot), login/password and get  "Unable to get image from your camera." error message. Why?
I ssh'ed to the box, but was unable to find any error messages, where should I look for it?

btw, when I just received vera with outdated firmware i was able to add this camera, but not now on 1.5.622.
ps is there a way to tilt it via vera lite? Corresponding http requests are clear from its web-interface (for example, /media/?action=cmd&code=2&value=1 is moving it up).

Regarding the camera, add.cgi to the end of the word snapshot.

Did you get this fixed?

I had a look at a Tenvis camera and the snapshot is //192.168.1.239:81/snapshot.cgi

That looks a lot like a re-branded Foscam camera (which also relies on a /snapshot.cgi URL). I would try the Foscam plugin (VistaCam PT&HD IP Cameras) from the app marketplace ... store ... place.

Web discussions of Tenvis seem to refer to it "copying" the Foscam line, as opposed to being related to it, so the theory could be off-base. However, the level of resemblance seems to go well beyond copying.

I am assuming you entered in the appropriate IP address, and login information. I recall that this plugin works erratically. A few times, I abandoned it entirely, only to have the cameras mysteriously resurface at a later date. It may take some fiddling, but doing so assumes that the theory has some basis. Hopefully someone else has some input.

Hi I am using two tenvis cams with vera lite for this create a new device
Put your camera ip with port
For device file use D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml
For impl file use I_FoscamPTZ.xml
Use your cameras user name and password
For URL use /snapshot.cgi
And hopefully it should work after a lot of hunting on this forum I was able to use both my camera
With ver lite

Hello Djenlyte, thanks for the post re Tenvis cameras at least someone has got them working, I tried to follow your instructions but still no luck, do I put the user name and password in the URL along with the IP address and snapshot.cgi?

Alternatively could you post a screen shot of the setup please, sorry If I am being a bit thick here, thanks
