DirecTv plug-in
« on: November 10, 2013, 01:51:01 pm »
Newbie question.

I am just starting to setup my VeraLite... and saw this plug-in.  Decided to install it to see what it did, but for the life of me can't figure out what to do next.  It's showing up in my AV Devices, but I'm not sure it is seeing my DVR (that is networked via Ethernet).  What else do a i need to do to control?

Can't find any user docs.

Thanks!!

Start here:

http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,3079.msg39782.html#msg39782

Enter your receivers IP in the plugins settings tab and then save. (make sure you have a static IP on your DVR)

Once you see the channel currently playing displayed in Vera's dashboard, you know its communicating with Vera. You can then either create scenes to control it (tune to a certain channel at a certain time etc), or use something like SQremote (iOS) to control it directly.

Awesome... thanks!

Works great... can see the channel.  Unfortunately, from within the plug in, i'm not sure how to get it to change a channel, etc?

Can't used SQ Remote unfortunately.... All Microsoft house (I work there).  :)  Maybe if they create a windows version!!!!   :o

Well you can build scenes for channel shortcuts using NumericEntry1 (and other actions like power on off) using the advanced tab of a scene.

You can also test it from this page by drilling down to the actions and clicking one.

http://YourVeraIP:3480/data_request?id=lu_invoke

Once you get to that page (it will look like the attached), then you can copy and paste the relevant HTTP links and create shortcuts, or even a webpage if you feel adventurous :)
