CES 2014
« on: December 10, 2013, 05:06:04 pm »
I don't see Micasaverde or Get Vera listed among the exhibitors at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) set for January 2014.

Any reason why?  Home automation appears to be a major attraction again this year.

Hopefully they are too busy trying to deliver on all the promises of a year ago.

In the past, they've been on the Z-Wave Alliance booth, and it looks like they will be for 2014 as well:

I should have known that my hope/theory was too optimistic.

I should have known.

Great.  I see the Vera and MiOS logos on the Z-Wave Alliance page.  I look forward to seeing the booth and will report back what I find.

Any news? Any announcements? I'm a little bit worried about this no news status about Vera...
Last year they showed the Vera Pro at CES and we had no news for the all year...
Last major update was back in March.
I'm not too woried about hardware. But software is key in home automation and there's little new here as well...
Am I being too pessimistic?

First off CES just kicked off. Second MCV should be showing off UI7 and hopefully new hardware to go with it. MCV has spent most of their time working on ui7 and the new authentication for remote access.

We all understand that. That doesn't change the fact that they showed product we haven't seen the face of in a all year...
I'm glad they are working on the new UI and that they will show it at CES 2014 but I just hope they will do more than just show it as they did with the Vera Pro...

Lew brown told me: We don't have plans for a new Vera until the second half of 2014. The UI 7 will work great on veralite or vera3.

And

I do not know an exact date when the new Vera should be available.

But the ui7 will not be supported by Vera 2.
Good firmware is more important than good karma. (and this costed me lots of Karma)

Hmmmm. Any word on when "UI7" will see beta?
My forum account was apparently hacked by a leprechaun. And he's drunk all of the time. If a post of mine seems a little off kilter, it's probably because he made it.

UI6 has been in use by some OEMs.  From what I heard, it is largely the same as UI5 except for remote access through MiOS.  Not sure what is happening to it, perhaps the OEM and Vera versions will be unified in UI7
HomeWave is available in the App Store!  Turn your iPhone/iPad into an easy-to-use remote control for Vera.
