I tried to get to the json config files via findvera.com and could not do it.
If anyone from MCV knows how I can do that, then there is no reason why
it would not work. The program needs to read two json files from vera, one
for config and one for status. It also needs to be able to send an http message
to turn things on and off.
Does anyone know if this would work via findvera.com and how to do it?
Of course another way to do it is the 'old' way. open port 49451 on your
firewall to allow access from outside and then post your ip address at
dyndns and that is it. Should work, but I have not tied it.
Another way is to use Yoics (
www.yoics.com) to gain access to the desktop
of the pc running in your house from outside the network. Yoics uses VNC
for remote desktop connections. The PC on your home LAN could have
air4vera running and you can easily get to it via VNC and you can see what
is happening also. In fact you could use VNC to get to the vera html page
running on your home LAN also. I have talked to the guys at Yoics about
installing their agent on the vera server (its very easy to do) but they have
not had the time.
If findvera.com would work somehow. it would be great.
So, what did you think of air4vera? I recently added locks and will post that version
some time in the future.
