Foscam FI8910W Losing It's IP Address
« on: December 29, 2013, 08:01:27 pm »
Currently I have 2 Foscam FI8910W cameras linked to a Veralite controller. One of them works great without any problems at all. However, the second one keeps losing its IP address in the settings & becomes something else, & as a result the camera will not appear. The current IP address is 192.168.0.111:8092, then when I look for the camera on my computer it says camera not found. When I open up the dashboard & look under setting for the camera the IP address will read 192.168.0.104 Both cameras are using port forwarding without any difficulty. For example, when Vera loses the proper IP address, I can go online & look for my camera using http://bx1234.myfoscam.org:8092 & the camera will show up. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'm also using the VistaCam SD, PT & HD for UI5 app. Thanks

Since you are using different  numbers, do you have the Mac address field entered under the settings of the camera in vera? If so remove it. Vera will try and find the ip address and change it if it thinks it changed. But will not port your custom port at the end. This has been discussed many times on the forum.

Thanks Garrett, I've removed the Mac address from both cameras.
