"regular" flourescent lights - which switches should I use
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:14:55 pm »
I'm spanking new to z-wave & vera (old timey x10 person).  I have two overhead fluorescent lights in my kitchen which are 3-way, can anyone point me at some switches that I can use for these. One is not a 3-way.
I'm not an electrician, so, any info as to load etc, would be helpful - I can, however, read labels on the lights  :)

Leviton switch numbers would be:

VRS15-1LZ - this is a 1w/3w switch that can handle fluorescent lighting

VP00R-1LZ - this is the matching 3 way remote to use in conjunction with the VRS15.

Any relay switch should work if they are standard flourescent lights(ballasts) - http://www.smarthome-products.com/s-30-fluorescent-appliance.aspx  ACT and Leviton switches use companion switches in their 3-way setups Homesettings and Intouch use a standard switch  8)

The "low voltage" switches are just for controlling appliances?

VP0SR-1LZ is the matching for switches.
