Veralite Died Today
« on: January 25, 2014, 09:49:20 pm »
My Veralite seems to have died today.  It sends out commands but is not receiving any info back from any devices.

I tried a factory reset/z-wave reset with no luck.

Anybody have any suggestions before I go buy another?

If you reset the Z-Wave network, did you re-included all the devices?

Also, One of your devices could be flooding the network, making it not a Vera issue.  Watching the log files and disabling all your battery operated devices might fix it...as battery devices tend to flip out during healing.

Hi,

Yes, I performed a rest of the z-wave network, and then veralite factory reset, and then moved the veralite into another room far from any other devices.

When the unit has been off and cool it boots and talks to a single outlet control OK, after a few minutes the commands from the vera go out OK (light plugged into outlet goes on and off) but i get no responses back to vera, and poll fails.

Only one device on z-wave network and its with 5 feet.

Now, I have about 30 other z-wave devices in the house, most are hard wired! so turning these off is a little cumbersome.

I look in the logs but I am not sure how to tell what the z-wave chip is doing.  If it is being swamped by a device how would i know?

here is what i see in the main log when i try to enable the outlet:

FIXED! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I bit the bullet and cycled the breaker to the house.  Everything came back up and works fine.

I most definitely had a device gone 'crazy'
