30-60 second response time normal?
« on: March 02, 2014, 02:59:58 pm »
I've got between 30 to 60 seconds for an on or off command to go through for insteon devices on the same circuit as the plm and mi casa verde. Is this normal? It's there anything I can do to speed it up? I only have a few plugins installed, and ask but the altsteon, weather underground, and xbmc plugin in use.

That is definitely not normal.

Does it work any faster if you use the altsteon_cli?   If so, there is a delay between Vera and Altsteon.   If the altsteon_cli takes that long, then that means you have some communications issue between the PLM and the other Insteon devices in your network.

You don't have the PLM or other devices plugged into a power strip, UPS, etc. do you?  Or do you have either on the same circuit as your PLM?   For instance, a UPS is a "signal sucker" and should be isolated with a FilterLinc.   I have a FilterLinc on my entertainment center and on the UPS that powers my home router, etc...and that dramatically improved communications.
