Connectivity issues
« on: March 04, 2014, 02:56:16 pm »
I have been using the Caddx plugin for almost a year now and I seem to keep having problems with it not being able to connect and I have to reload the Luup or restart the Vera to fix the problem, but sometimes it comes right back within an hour or 2.

Could you take a look at my setup attached and let me know if you have any suggestions to fix the problem?  Or let me know if you need me to send you any logs?

Thanks

Hi whoamib,

If you are getting intermittent problems (i.e., sometimes it works) then the configuration that you've shown in your screen captures is correct.  If that configuration wasn't correct then it wouldn't work at all, ever.

Intermittent problems are an indication that you've got a noisy serial connection, or a physically loose serial connection, or bad wiring.

You haven't said whether you use an NX-8E or NX-584, or how it's connected.  Those are much more likely to be the culprit.  Describe that part of your system in detail.

Also capturing a Luup log while you see the problem would help a lot.
