Well it got run over by the vacuum cleaner and that was it. :D Probably my fault - left it lying around on the floor.

So how do you unpair a Z-Wave device, if you no longer have that device. Deleting the device in the UI will not work. The device parent just gets regenerated, when the device is found at start up in the Z-Wave controller list. Any clues?

Z-Wave zombie on the loose.

@akbooer  - deleting does not work - from the wiki:

The list of Z-Wave devices which have been paired with Vera's black Z-Wave dongle is stored within the dongle itself. This means that even if you do a factory reset of Vera - which wipes out all of Vera's memory - once Vera comes back up, you'll still see the same list of Z-Wave devices.

@Brientim  - I read the wiki and searched high & low for this famed button:

The other option is to click the 'Permanently remove dead node' button to remove one particular node.

May as well be hunting Unicorns. I have this available - does that help?

If I remember correctly the magic it in the process not the button.

The Trash Can

Goes something like:
Delete device and then rebook (not restart luup)

Or during start up, hit the trash.

It has been awhile as I have only had one device die.

I will try to test tonight.

HA HA, found another thread

Yes, this certainly seems to work - thanks @Breintim.

Thanks also to @a-lurker for the OP.

@Brientim   Yep - looks good. Thanks.

Delete device
Vera restarts Luup engine of its own accord
Device shows up again as a Zombie after the Luup restart
Delete device once again; straight away
Vera restarts Luup engine of its own accord
Device is now deleted

Next time I will search on "Z-Wave" not "ZWave".  Sigh...
