Wifi off during sleep again perhaps? Sounds like a similar issue with some service closing when sleeping.

Hmmmm must be something to do with sleep and services be stopped. is there any setting in auto vera that mentions wake / sleep?  other though is have you reviewed all app you have on this device in comparison to another - when i find similar issues it is sometimes and app over-riding things.  I had a similar issue just recently with screen time out.  my guess is you may have another app that is over riding master settings.  does the setting you have set in the mater set up change after a set period of time?  that may give some clues if they do.  e.g always awake changes to asleep after a while or reboot for example.  Just thinking aloud.

Found it ... it took a bit of time...

It seems that android 4.2.2 has an issue when the screen is locked , wifi goes to standby. A bug in the OS obviously.
There is an app ( advanced wifi lock) which forces the wifi to stay on.

This works , now when I remotely switch the screen off before going to sleep and in the morning wake my whole house up , also the tablet flips on again.
