21st century sprinkler integration
« on: July 07, 2014, 04:55:38 am »
Hello guys,

Reading the posts here and the feedback in the plugin section there are 4 products which had been integrated at some point in time with Vera. 2 of the 4 haven't been updated for quite some time and people still install them despite they offer basic integration and even have bugs.

The other 2 don't have and screenshots published but their descriptions are not promising either while on the other hand people are posting all kinds of new devices like blue water, irrigation caddy, etc but none of those have been integrated yet.

Are there any new plugins in development at the moment guys going beyond than just on and off or manual zone management?

Open sprinkler has its own config to set schedules(which once set will run from its own timer) and the vera plugin allows you to set opensprinker to auto(to run the schedule) , off and manual(which let's you control each zone from your vera). This covers quite a few different situations and works well for me

Will this work with the virtual rain sensor?  My existing irrigation system has a rain sensor but only for pas my rain fall.  My sprinklers turn on around 4 am... If the forecast calls for rain later that day my sprinklers will still turn on.

Id like it to be able to detect rain in the forecast over a 12 hr period and operate based on that

I use PLEG to control the OpenSprinkler (Turn OS 'Off' when rain) and the Virtual Rain Sensor.  Switch back OS to 'Auto' when Virtual Rain sensor is not tripped with rain.
