UI5 Firmware: 1.5.672
« on: October 23, 2014, 12:24:24 pm »
Evening all

All i have got since installing this firmware to support the Fibaro motion sensors is problems. Unable to include and exclude devices and devices loosing sync with vera. I never had a issue before doing this update. How do i revert back to normal firmware as i can live without using Fibaro motion sensors until a more stable firmware is available

Thanks in advance

Rich

Hi Rich,

To install a previous version: go to SETUP, select Firmware`and in the Field "Advanced URL for Vera custom firmware:" enter http://download.mios.com/rt3662_betafirmware/rt3662_Luup_ui5-1.5.622-en-mios.squashfs

this takes you back to 1.5.622.

Make sure to have a backup of your current configurartion.

Reviving this topic...

I was just wondering if anyone else ever attempted this upgrade, and how it went.  I am considering perhaps trying to upgrade to my UI5 to 1.5.672  but I sure would like to hear about, how many of you did it? How many had to revert back?  Problems encountered?

My Vera3 has over 150 devices and over 300 scenes.  It is fairly stable with just a few devices not fully working to my satisfaction (the infamous Smoke-detector and a LED Bulb)  None of these devices cause me serious headaches,  but of course, if this upgrade was to solve my little issues with them, life would be even better.

I also have a client to which I installed a VeraLite with currently only 18 devices and 9 Scenes... a very simple and standard installation that I also support and monitor for him, With every devices working well.  I suppose I could Upgrade this VeraLite for the client with a good backup and Ready to restore if anything goes bad,  but of course,  this will not confirm that my 2 "new generation" devices will or won't work on my Vera3.

Anyways, any thoughts anyone?  Any horror stories?  Success stories? Recommendations?

Thx
Claude

Alright so I dove in just now.

I am happy to report that it seems to have gone relatively smoothly....  95% of my devices still seem to work as before (only my 10 Door/Window sensors received a new Device-Id... they kept the same node-nbr I think, but they were all renumbered with new Device-Id... so that means that many of my LUUP and Scenes will have to be tweaked a bit).

My LED Bulb now works with the new firmware which is a plus... but the firmware upgrade didn't seem to have fixed the First-Alert Smoke-Detector problem at first glance.

I didn't try yet but I suspect that my Fibaro multi-sensor (currently used in my VeraEdge network) could now work in my new UI5 if I were to "include" it in my Vera3 network as Clippermiami mentioned.

Also another device I could give a try eventually during the next few days would be my MonoPrice Smoke-detector... it didn't work before in my UI5... I might "exclude" it form my Vera Edge and give it a try to see if it would now work with my new UI5.

Overall, not bad at all I think.  Of course,  I will only know for sure after some time has passed.

Just remember this version isn't officially supported. It was provided to allow some newer devices to work. For all intensive purposes, development on UI5 is dead and UI7 is where we're being nudged.

With that said, I've been running 1.5.672 on my Vera3 for ages now and will be very slow to move.

Give http://download.mios.com/rt3662_betafirmware/rt3662_Luup_ui5-1.5.672-en-mios.squashfs a try. :)

Is there a changelog for 1.5.672 ?

How is this, stability-wise, vs 1.5.622 ?

thanks

only problem I am having with 1.5.672 on a vera 3 is the garage switch plugin (version 2.1) doesn't work, and a few scenes do not work such as cameras moving to a specific preset number, I came from 1.5.622 and these problems never occured only reason why I upgraded firmware was to be able to use gen 5 motion sensors.
