@cw-kid

I'm going to give your mod a try on Gotham 13.0.  I will let you know how it works.

OK good! Which skin are you using?

OK the add-on will look ok in the default Confluence skin then!

The other major issue with the add-on is if you have more than 19 devices and scenes in a room, the add-on has a limitation and will only display 19 items in that rooms list.

Did you see the blog post about it? I've not been able to fix this.

Which is why we need a developer to sort it out properly.

Yes I have read the blog post.  The 19 device issue does not affect me.

It def would be cool if it worked on a more broad scope.  I am no developer however, so you are out of luck there.  Only able to test.

The plugin works fine with UI7 and Kodi :) . The only option I would like to implement are shortcuts to scenes or devices on the homescreen.

Which Kodi skin are you using?

Home screen of Kodi? Yeah that would be good.

Main thing I'd like is to be able to hide scenes and devices that you are not using in the Kodi add-on.

Yes, default Kodi and default skin. Hoping to add them to the home screen...

Are running Kodi on Linux?

It is possible to create python scripts to run a command using curl to send a http request to Vera to run a scene or control a device. If you look at points 2 and 3 on this blog post it explains how.

http://windowsmediacenter.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/xbmc-openelec-logitech-harmony.html

In Kodi I can then go to the file manager and browse to the folder location of these python script .py files, if I select one the action in Vera is then carried out.

There then might be a way to add shortcuts to these files on the Kodi menus some how? Just a thought.

Here's an older post using wget on Windows and creating .cmd files.

http://windowsmediacenter.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/how-to-control-vera-z-wave-devices-and.html

These blog posts were for programming Logitech Harmony universal remote controls to control Vera devices and scenes via the HTPC, but you could just create the .cmd or .py script files and then select / run them from the file manager in Kodi etc.

Hi guys

I've had word today from the original developer of this add-on, he is called Guido.

"I'm about to revamp the opensource project.

I will just contribute to the opensource project in my spare time. Which is not much btw: few hours per week (or month?) but it's better than nothing.

I notice there are 2 issues open on github:

https://github.com/gderosa/xbmc-vera/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue

I can start from them.

Feel free to add yours (create an account on github if you don't have one).

I'll go through the issues you reported in your emails and have a look at the code you sent over to me a while ago.

One little thing at a time.

Sorry for not being able to do more in the past."

I have already added my bug reports and feature requests to the Github issues page!

Install the one i modified that i linked too on my dropbox.

The developer went on holiday for two weeks so not heard anything recently. But I think i have managed to get the Zwave Euro distributor to agree to donate a Vera unit to the developer as he hasnt got one. Ill be arranging this when hes back. So hopefully we might then see some new releases of the addon on github at some point.

Yes I am also using the XBMCstate add-on for Vera and XBMC. I wrote about that setup on this link

Thanks again @cw-kid

One thing I'm interested in is having Vera sending messages/events (pop up) to my Kodi installation?

Now I could have sworn I've seen it here or done elsewhere, but I can't for the life of me find a plugin for it..?

Does that ring any bells with you ?

I'm very new to xbmc/kodi but I recall you've often been referencing it in posts, so thought I'd ask you.
