Scene getting triggered non-stop
« on: October 19, 2014, 06:29:31 pm »
Hi,

All of a sudden, a scene I had set up to alert me when a window sensor has been tripped is now alerting me non-stop every 2 seconds. As long as I have the window open, it will keep sending me notifications.

What I am expecting is for it to send me one alert when the window is opened. Below is the log of just 3.

Code: [Select]
07 10/19/14 15:21:07.032 Event::Evaluate 12 office window - tripped scene Alarm alerts is true users:(null) allow:1 <0x5c18>
08 10/19/14 15:21:07.033 Scene::RunScene running 5 Alarm alerts <0x5c18>
06 10/19/14 15:21:09.618 Device_Variable::m_szValue_set device: 37 service: urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:SecuritySensor1 variable: LastTrip was: 1413757265 now: 1413757269 #hooks: 0 upnp: 0 v:0x8c5730/NONE duplicate:0 <0x5c18>

You'd need to switch on Verbose logging in Vera to get the extra details that surround this thing being triggered.

I'm assuming it's some sort of virtual Motion-sensor, driven by a plugin, so what "backs" this device will also be needed, since it could well be a bug in that software.

Note that SecuritySensor1 Devices are one of the few that are allowed to "repeat" when they don't actually state-change, so anything that sets the Device to the same [Tripped] value will cause it to fire off the corresponding triggers/events.

This is my alarm tied to Vera with AD2USB.

I recently ungraded to UI5 and updated the Vista alarm plugin. But it has been working for a week. Strange that it's behaving like this out of nowhere.

Looks like it mysteriously resolved itself. I'm still curious why this is happening.

I did a soft restart, then a hard restart. In between the restarts, I saved changes to my scenes (no modifications) and enabled verbose logging.

On the 3rd soft restart, it just "fixed" itself.

Looks like it didn't fix itself. It seems intermittent. Sometimes a reboot of the Vera solves it, but will eventually go back to this issue of non-stop alerts for any sensors opened in the house.

Just to rule out the AD2USB, please make sure it is sending the messages for the open and close correctly.
