Vera to HomeVsion IR commands
« on: February 22, 2015, 04:33:28 pm »
Hi,
   My orginal home automation control was through HomeVison which stores IR commands for all of my av equipment. I then added Girder 5 running on windows 7 PC. Girder would send commands over an Ethernet to serial link. It was all becoming a wee bit cumbersome, X10 modules were ok but no feedback. Anyway changed to Vera and HomeWave, after lots of reading thro various post managed to get Vera to send signals to Homevison. No stunning programing here's how I accomplished it, which I found on another post on communication over ethernet

Created a scene with the following code
local socket = require("socket")
host = "192.168.0.22"
c = assert(socket.connect(host, 2031))
c:send(",;3400\r")
c:close()

The send command is formatted as follows
, comma tells HomeVison a command is to follow
; semi colon tells it is an IR command which is to be sent
34 is the hex value of the IR stored command
00 tells Homevison transmit the IR command one time

HomeVison can store 255 IR commands, I installed an IR to Bluetooth on the PS3 and recorded on Homevison the IR commands. So can turn the PS3 on and off play dvd etc

Anyway hopefully, if anyone else has a Homvsion, this is of some use to them
