I can only guess as information is zero. But, with the latest Ui7 releases the panel positioning was getting more and more different from how it used to work on UI5. Maybe now it works like UI5 positioning again? That would imply you can have wider that standard controls again and I do not see that fly with UI7.

So, actually... just as clueless as you  :-[

I guessed wrong. A tad more information here

but in short, the y or top (never know which of the two should be used where) do not seem to have any effect on the panel view anymore. All is just lined up until the row is full and then it goes to the next, unless you use the new positioning features documented just now. Negative values for top (or x??) do work anymore btw.
