3.82 update broke my connection to Vera

I woke up this morning to find communication errors between my AD2USB and the Veralite; it had been working perfectly since installed several months ago.  There was a Lua startup error and everything I touched kicked out a "Communication Failure" popup.  I spent the last few hours troubleshooting - I hooked the AD2USB to a PC and ran the NuTech alarm pad software and it worked perfectly.  Serial port settings on the Vera appeared to be correct.  I logged into the Vera console and could see the traffic from the AD2USB coming in via a cat command to the USB port - I was stumped.  Finally I spotted that the plugin appeared to have been upgraded from 3.12 to 3.82 with today's (May 15, 2015) date.  I downgraded the plugin back to 3.12 (unchecked the auto-update box) and everything started working again.  A cautionary tale.

Thank you for that!  I checked and i am on 3.0 and had the update unchecked.  I believe i will just let everything stay as is for a while.

Thanks!  I've been running down the same path this morning trying to figure this problem out and ran across your post.  Bingo! 

Next question, if they fix this error, and put out a new update, how will we ever know? :-\

Mine is also broken-- happened at some unknown time between the latest Firmware update (v.1.7.583) and and automatic app update.  Attempted to downgrade the app by unchecking the box, no luck.

Mine says "Missing Port" and "Cannot Detect Device".  Works fine connected to PC.  Serial setup seems to be configured same as it was before, so I'm kinda stumped but suspect it's the firmware.

I've opened a support request to try to get my unit returned to the previous firmware rev, but meh.  dangit.

Hi all,

The last update includes this new feature. I found a potential cause of this issue but I need someone to test it. Please upload the L_VistaAlarmPanel1.lua file on your unit (Apps/Develop Apps/Luup files) and reload the engine.
If this doesn't fix the issues you can downgrade the plugin to version 3.12 with the following request in your browser :

Don't forget to uncheck auto-upgrade.

I tried the lua file and it did not fix the issue for me (Vera not getting alarm status). But downgrading the version did the trick. However, even when I un-check "Auto Update" and go back to that page, it is checked again for some reason... so I am worried that it will auto update again by itself.

If there are any logs I can provide to help troubleshoot this issue, please let me know and I'll be happy to help if I can.

I will remove 3.82 version form the appstore until we fix the issues in this version. If your plugin is not updated to 3.12 in the next 24 hours, please use the following url do downgrade the plugin
