We now have a new developer working on this...

I don't want to go into the details of past experiences on this... but getting an Android version working to satisfaction has been "interesting". I have high hopes for this version (mind you I had high hopes for the previous versions too).

Im also waiting for an android version, I like Homebuddy but there are issues with the data reload every time I touch a device...

Yup have an EVO as well...  I'd love to see this on the EVO 3D..  I got to play with it at the wireless conference in FL last month.  ;D

I got my vera yesterday after much research and (mistakenly) thinking Homebuddy was a good and well updated program.

It partially works with everything which I think is even worse than if it did not work! I can turn my thermastat to "Heat" but not "Off" or to "Cool"... very useful!


Save me and my horrible research skills by releasing for android!

Quick question and might have already been answered.  If I buy the Full version for my iPhone do I also need to buy another full version for my android tablet?  Same question for if I buy a blaster and get the full version for free?  Thanks

We have not made any pricing decisions on future versions yet.... And please note the Android version is still in development. I don't expect to see a version in general release for quite some time. We have had several false starts and although I feel better about the current project, there are no guarantees.

I have used Home Buddy since it was released. I have no issues with it, except I have a minor issue with 3 zones showing motion on my alarm that are false. The developer is aware of the issue and is working on it.

Home Buddy is a working android app that is free!  So stop your whining. Also I have donated for my copy unlike other sponges.

I for the life of me do not understand what is so difficult to release an Android version. Other companies do it all the time. Seems that you guys are more devoted to iOS which is fine, just stop telling us that it will be coming out. It has been 7 months now since I heard of an Android version coming out. With an answer "quite some time" that is like next year.

BTW there are more Android platform handsets than iOS, so you guys may want to think that over.

@computerjohn, its not that they couldn't throw something together and do a reasonable job I expect! The tricky part is making it compatible with the iOS version not only from a look and feel standpoint, but also from a compatibility standpoint with the existing blaster, the upcoming pro, but also with the setup files and also the upcoming SQ designer / Adobe Air platform.

Imagine doing the above with a limited team, and then throw into the mix making it work with Mios, testing with multiple iOS version/hardware, whilst also actively coding the iPad app, SQ designer and working on your next gen hardware simultaneously!

None of this is easy and if you saw the amount of work that goes into all of this from the development team, and also a small army of beta testers finding bugs, you wouldn't be so hard on them.

I'm sure they'll reward you with you patience!

I just requested to be added to your beta for android. I downloaded SQ Designer and it seems very slick. My wife and I both have androids, and I have a lot of A/V equipment, so I would love to have an SQ Blaster and android control.

@strangly is absolutely right, and I understand you have to be intelligent about how you deploy your development resources. I also understand that android users can be cheap, but I for one would buy it.  :)

Following on the heels of some impressive marketing data reports for last quarter, from the likes of ComScore and Nielsen, is a new report from Millennial Media. Their report further solidifies the remarkable and meteoric rise of the Android OS on smartphones. According to their data, in July, Android rose to blanket a 61% marketshare of all smartphones.
