Is autovera the same as Google Now + Autovoice + Tasker?

Does autovera give the ability to voice control from phone/tablet like the youtube video or does it still require tasker and autovoice to be installed?

AutoVera by itself does not do voice. You use whichever voice platform you want that links/works with Tasker to trigger tasks that connect to AutoVera. That's how "Turn on the lights" works. It just triggers another task connected to AutoVera and toggles the status.
