I'll post a new discussion when I have a working beta.  I might be making my own interface to match the MCE look and feel.

Also Interested Roger,
So I hope you are successful.  I will also assist you if you need any extra help.  I have used the Anthony Park add-on before but interfacing the Vera with my Windows Media remote is the ideal route.

Hello Everyone!

I'm working on purchasing a Vera in Feb.  After that, I will be developing a MCE Add In for Vera.  I want to be able to control my system through my XBOX (MCE).  It will also have my IP Cameras.

Why?  Because of the wife.  She doesn't want a remote more complicated then the Harmony 890 we have.  She wants to keep the interface she is use to (Windows Media Center on XBOX).

Let me know if your interested!

Roger

I haven't tried myself. But apparently you can just add all your z-wave devices to the 890 and then make the vera secondary to the 890 it will work (there's a page in the wiki). So direct device control you can get right off the 890 without even have to fire off the mce.  Probably need the MCE though to get scenes to work though

I think you'll find thats only the 890 pro and not the plain 890

BUMMER- laughing (or crying ....not sure).

I have an 890 and only read the wiki quickly so assume it was for that - but now i see it was posted about the 890pro.

But i don think i've read on homeseer forums about people getting the 890 to download to another controller as secondary. I'll have to try one day....

They got in a bit of legal pickle with the 1000 model over the same thing and if you notice the current version 1100 has zwave support removed altogether. I tried and failed with 890 many times and it seems to be missing the menu to be able to copy over. Either way its a shame as it isn't the best remote but is pretty versatile and would have a lot more so if i could have had it as a secondary. The only thing i can thank Logitech for is the fact i bought my remote for IR control then about a year after owning it, noticed it had this Zwave thing and when i googled it i found what it was and decided to buy some modules and quickly outgrew it in favor of a gateway.... :)

So how could you make the 890 or 890 pro control the gateway with a corresponding wake up or go to sleep button on the 890?

I gave up on the 890 and 890 pro because they have to be the primary controller and they don't play nice with other devices such as my Nevo Q50 remote or the Vera. So the Nevo has replaced my 890 pro.

If there is a way to make either 890's or 890 pro's work, I would love to know how to do this.

I dont think there is unless Logitech decided to start developing it again (fat chance of that)

Hello Roger.NET

How is this plug in coming? I was actually kinda shocked to see that Vera was mentioned on the mControl Win7MC plugin. Unfortunately, it looks like it was written for the pre-Luup firmware versions of Vera. :(

I just built a new windows 7 box and I'm really interested in being able to control Vera through my Media extender XBox360s! I'd love to be a Beta tester too!

I'm in the middle of the programming now.  I'm waiting on a few items including a good (cheap) tablet device to work with.

I hope to post some info and screen shots soon.

Awesome! I'm really looking forward to this. I'm getting kinda tired of all the UI changes MCV has been making, and I have found new refuge in the Square Connect App... It would be great to be able to add another control interface to additional devices in my place.

Looking forward to having your plug-in, the Ceton quad cable card tuner, Somfy Z-wave interface, Vera, SquareConnect for HA control and IR control all brought together in one Eco system!

Are you thinking about marketing this plugin, or just offering it as a community open-source type of thing? Also, what kind of z-wave devices are you planning on coding/testing? I'd be happy to let you know my setup for additional devices if you are interested in additional testing?!?
