Vera Plus Crashes Wifi
« on: March 25, 2016, 05:12:13 am »
Hi All,

I'm new to Vera and have bought the Vera Plus along with a few Z-Wave devices. On setting up the Vera everytime I plug the ethernet cable into my Virgin Router it crashes the WIFI and I have to reboot it with out the Vera connected to get it to work.

Any ideas as to whats causing this. I have the Philips Hue hub and Tado plugged into the same router and have never had any problems so its definitely something Vera related.

All help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Is your Virgin router by any chance a Cisco made unit? Since those and Cisco branded cable boxes seem to not like to co-exist with Vera.

Thanks Marc, I have emailed them I'm just keen to get it set up. I've read a lot of good things so want to get started.

BOFH - It's made by Netgear if that helps not Cisco. I have had some minor problems with it in the past but it's been replaced since then and it does work with other hubs.

Was it an easy fix?

Did anyone manage to solve this issue or should I be sending the controller back to store and picking up a smartthings hub?

Ditto.

I've mailed support this morning as per above notes, but if anyone has any answers so I don't have to wait a weekend that would be very helpful!

Notes for any future readers:

I've managed to get a stable setup, but only by putting the Vera behind a wireless repeater!

Couldn't tell you why the difference though...

Waa your router by any means doing something with dlna? Pretending a nas? Etc.?
Good firmware is more important than good karma. (and this costed me lots of Karma)

??? What? How?  So you don't have a direct connection to the router?
