Wiring clarification on Fibaro Dimmer 2
« on: June 07, 2016, 06:31:39 am »
I'm not certain of my wiring on Dimmer 2. Though I can control through switches (its multi way) and through Vera. It occasionally gets stuck on/off and requires reset. This may be a Vera/Smartthings/Fibaro issue but I want to eliminate it being my wiring. It may also be a faulty unit..
THis is a UK install so no neutral on a latching switch.
From circuit Common into L (on fibaro)
From circuit L2 into switched live output (Sguiggly symbol on Fibaro)
From circuit L1 into switch L1
From switch common into SX on Fibaro
From switch L2 to S1 on Fibaro
Loop N & SX on Fibaro.

Appreciate any help.

I'm in the UK, are you using 2 x 2 way switches?

You have to toggle the switches on/off for them to work if no parameters have been set.

Toggle On/Off to turn on.
Then you can toggle on to dim to level required, off when at the level you want. Back on again to bring the level back up.
Toggle On/Off again to turn off.

The above was confusing the wife and kids so I changed my switches to momentary, I have 2 wired in parallel, it switches or makes SX to S1.

Squiggly is the Live to the light.
If no Neutral at the switch, SX linked to N.

In the manual below, it shows SX to S1 and S2, which is how I think you've wired it so should be OK, providing S1 & S2 do the same function. Looks like you have to change parameter 29?

I've looked at this as I plan to control 2 dimmers together with a third switch SX on one dimmer to both S2's but haven't got around to it yet.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
There are four switches for this circuit. Does it need to be on the first switch? If so how do you identify which is the first?

Ahhhh you have 2 x 2way and 2 x intermediate?

I've done a quick drawing of the wiring which will work. No parameter changes required..
