Reliability Recently
« on: November 14, 2016, 11:32:23 am »
I have been using iPhone locator for some time now with pretty good results despite the fact that I live in an area with marginal cell service.  Recently however, while actually at home, I'm getting notified that my phone is outside the geofence and then a couple of minutes later another notification stating that I'm now inside the fence. This is not the first time I have seen this happen but it used to be very rare but now it's FAR more often, actually three times this past weekend.

could depend on many things like new apps installed on the phone,  corruption of network settings on the phone,  change of cell coverage by the phone providers etc ... impossible to say for sure
potential axis of investigation includes
checking the log files in DEBUG mode to see what happens,
following the evolution of the variable "LocationExtraInfo" to see if it is not changing its location source from Wifi / GPS or 3G etc ...

This is why it's often better to have a TWO factor presence detector

i.e.   a) Dual Radius GeoFence
       b) GeoFence and Ping
       c) GeoFence and BlueTooth

I use dual radius and PLEG for logic     (Home is  Outer Radius followed by Inner Radius)
(!Home is !Inner Radius followed by !Outer Radius)

! means NOT
