1.7.902 release notes?
« on: December 12, 2016, 01:39:08 pm »
I logged into my vera today and got prompted to upgrade from 1.7.891 (7.0.19b) to 1.7.902. The release notes link points to 7.0.19b, though, so I have no idea what changes there are. Is it normal for release notes to be delayed? Anyone know where or what they are?

It appears that they've now updated the 7.0.19b changelog with new links, but no new changes. This is the first time I've been on a beta branch... is this normal for their betas?

Ah! They've changed the common version number to 7.0.19, so this is a final version, and no longer beta.

Here's the release notes.

Kevin, your VeraLite may be out of or not have enough memory. The best thing to do is contact Customer Care support@getvera.com so they can check it out for you. To speed things up enable remote access under Settings-->Customer Care and include the code in your email. Feel free to CC me.

Hi Marc,

My Edge upgraded just fine this time, no space issues, five minutes and done. Great work.

On the Lite it is a different story however. I did like that it can remove the DataMine files for a better chance and it gives a proper warning before starting, but still failed even when sufficient space in /overlay was made free. I removed more files and maybe one too many as it bricked the Lite. I just did a firmware flash and now it is upgrading again, keeping my fingers crossed on how it will look once done and I have restored the backup.

I was monitoring the commands executed and I do find one thing realy strange and it seem the bottle neck in the space issues. The new firmware is first loaded to the /tmp folder. Then the script copies that to the /etc/cmh-firmware folder (6MB or so), and then the install script seem to use the file in the /tmp folder !?!? ???
Code: [Select]

/bin/ash /sbin/mtd write /tmp/newmios.squashfs mios
/usr/sbin/nandwrite -p /dev/mtd8 /tmp/newmios.squashfs
So if you guys can eliminate the (redundant?) coping to the /etc/chm-firmware folder upgrades should just work again, as on the Lite it has become seriously troublesome.

But, keep up the good work.

Cheers Rene

2xVeraLite, VeraEdge, openLuup, ALTUI, 20 switches, 10 dimmers, 20 sensors, 10 scene controllers, 1 Harmony Hub, many plug-ins. Not enough time.

Hi all,

I get the same "not enough space to upgrade" on Vera3 when prompted for the 17.902 upgrade.

Did anyone find a solution?

Ah! They've changed the common version number to 7.0.19, so this is a final version, and no longer beta.

Here's the release notes.

Strange.  I looked at that page yesterday and it said 7.0.19 as you say.  I looked again today and it has been updated again on 13 Dec and has gone back to 7.0.19b.  I am running a Vera Plus with the Beta (1.7.2349) and could not get it to prompt me for a firmware upgrade to 1.7.2406 yesterday ... but it looks from this updated release note like they have pulled it for some reason.

I am sure it's not just a problem with my browser's cache, since the Release Note shows that it has just been updated on 13 Dec, so that superceeds the 12 Dec update to 7.0.19.

What's going on?

It is not you browser playing trix on you. I see the same thing. Yesterday it was 7.0.19 and today it is 7.0.19b. My VeraPlus newer prompted me to update either but I forced the update by using the URL from the release notes  that was there yesterday, now the URLs are gone.

Maybe they are just making a proper release note for the 7.0.19 instead of changing the one for 7.0.19b. Or they actually pulled the release...

New 7.0.19 release and release notes announced on Vera's Twitter feed:

"We?re pleased to announce that the 7.0.19 Software Update has been released. It includes a broad array of bug... http://fb.me/31abuT74o "

The Vera Plus version number has now gone to 1.7.2414, so there must have been some further changes.

I am still on 1.7.2349 and checking for firmware updates gives me " You are running the latest version 1.7.2349".  I don't see the URLs to force the update, so would appreciate any help/links.

How to update Vera Plus to the new firmware? I am getting this message:

I too am seeing "You are running the latest version: 1.7.2138" on my VeraPlus unit when I go to the Settings/Firmware page.  Did they pull the updated firmware?   ???

I raised this question with support and was told they are doing a phased rollout and I will just the prompt in the next few days.

I have noticed another thread on this forum with a URL for the Vera Plus firmware, but I am reluctant to force the upgrade in case there is some critcal reason behinnd doing a phased rollout.

That makes sense. Thanks for sharing this info...
