So, no one tried the 7.0.21 beta?
« on: April 21, 2017, 05:54:34 am »
Hi,

Normally I see messages show up once a beta is released. Not this time with 7.0.21. I just installed it on my test Edge and installed without a hitch. It is not running much though. All things are working.

Cheers Rene

Hmmm, a stealth update.  8) It was posted in announcements on 4/11 but I must have missed it.

Looking at the fixes, there's nothing applying to my setup so I'll pass...

Agreed - lots of hardware fixes but I am sure my "can't detect device" error for my 2 Aeon door sensors will continue.

Don,
Did you build your system from a factory reset ? Or did you do a controller shift to move devices to it ?

Don,
Are they the "triangle" corner sensors ?

Richard, no controller shift. I upgraded to UI7 last spring from 6, and added the 2 Aeon devices in August. They work fine, just the annoying "Can't Detect Device" from time to time, mostly the one in the garage door - which is the closest z-wave device I have, about 3 feet away.

Spam, these are in the door type: https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/collections/door-window-sensors/products/aeon-labs-z-wave-magnetic-door-window-recessed-sensor-zw089-a

About a month ago, I changed the battery in the garage door sensor, which seemed to clear the error for a couple of days.  Same behavior now.

I have given up since both work fine.

There does not seem to be much interest in the 7.0.21 beta since there are not many comments about it.

Anyhow, I installed it on my spare Veralite and have not noticed any difference from the previous version.
I don't have any z-wave devices  on this Vera and the setup is really small. Just a pair of MySensors GWs with a few sensors/actuators, PLEG, Simple Alarm and Datamine2.

An update.  I changed the polling on the device to the default (z-wave is set to 60 seconds) and the error is mostly gone now.  It shows up from time to time, but much better.

@Don Phillips.  I have had 2 Aeon door sensors for several months with default install.  I have had no issue.  I can say both are within 15' of the controller.  1 on either side.

Both of mine have always worked. The one 3' from the control usually showed as "can't detect device" although it functioned fine.  The one about 25' also worked fine, and only occasionally would be reported as "can't detect device". Since I changed the closest one's polling to default (z-wave set to 60s), both devices are reported as OK almost all the time.  The one 3' from the controller is sometimes reported as "can't detect device" for a few minutes but it rare now, maybe once a day or two.
