Stupid question perhaps, but I would like certain devices to automatically trigger when I switch to away or vacation mode (water turned off with a zwave controllable shutoff valve, doors locked, etc.).  I cannot figure out how tondo that in Vera Scenes.  Sorry for my stupidity.  Please help.  Thanks.

Hi there, yes it can, but you have to install the additional plugin called "House Modes plugin" , from app store.

This way, you can select any mode change as trigger, in the scenes.

Thanks.  Much appreciated.  I thought I had read about others on this forum having the mode trigger things.

If it is something really basic like turn off a light or turn it on.  You can do that directly in the Modes UI.  Lets you set lights on/off or set dim level on a mode change.  I don't think a lot of folks use it because they usually need more then just off/on.

@Don it is not all on or all off,
In the Mode UI, you can set each light to any dim level on or off individually in each mode
you can also lock or unlock locks
And set or dis-arm security plug ins.

Not sure if you can change thermostat settings I have my thermostat wired to my alarm system instead of my Vera.

What you can't do is have any delays like when I set to away I turn off some lights first then wait a minute then turn off the rest of the lights, then lock the door, etc.  or any other complex logic.  You will need a scene or PLEG for that.

It just depends on how complex your Away or home logic is.
