How much video storage do I have?
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:52:31 pm »
Hi all,

I just connected a VistaCam 900 to my VeraSecure.

I created a scene to make the VistaCam record whenever motion in detected.  It an ideal world, I'd like to keep recording stippets of video, even if I know it's just me at home.

How many snippets can I put on Vera's servers?  It's there a data limit?  Will new pieces of video begin to overwrite old pieces at some point?

Thanks!

Jon

I've had more success using Blue Iris to store the recordings on my NAS.
Vera 3, UI7 1.7.947, CT101 t-stat, Everspring motion detector, GE/Jasco switch, Leviton outlet, AeonLabs door sensor, Insteon garage control, Blue Iris, Sricam SP011, iPhone locator, APCUPSD, VeraMate, VeraAlerts, PLEG, House Modes, Countdown Timer, DVR, Virtual & Multi Switch, Weather, Sys. Mon.

Hi.  I'm also interested where the vera system saves the pictures when enabled.  Is it saved locally in the device (and therefore consuming all the memory) or is it saved in the cloud (what is the storage limit?)   What happens when it is auto archive is enabled?  Hope Vera representatives in the forum can shed light to this

This is the answer. You can have as much as you want. Currently I have 4Tb completely under my control.
