I purchased a Geospring heat pump water heater and am quite happy so far. I noticed that it came with a connection port which will attach a communications module that should to work with Ge Nucleus power monitor and automation device. I seems GE killed the Nucleus project. It also seems like all such projects are exculsively run through the power company and if you power company doesn't happen to partner with them you are hosed and the power company has all the control. GE Brillion seems to be limited now to being able to turn on your (very expensive) oven with your iphone.

I want to be able to dynamically adjust my water heaters temp and mode so I can lower it during peak power times and turn it up when my solar panels are generating.
GE always seems to have great fanfare and abysmal execution. Given a decent interface the communication should be simple and could interface with anything.
Has anyone done anything with GE Brillion or communicating with a GeoSpring HPWH and getting it to communicate with a vera?
