Autoconfiguration Setting
« on: February 03, 2018, 06:43:22 pm »
Can anyone tell me what a device's autoconfiguration setting does?  There are three choices: 1) default behavior 2)Yes and 3)No.  There should be a fourth: 4) I have no idea.

1) default behavior = Follow Vera's global setting(defaults to Yes).

2)Yes = Override the global setting and do device configuration. (Write/overwrite the devices configuration with each change or heal on Vera.)

3)No = Override the global setting and do not configure the device when there are changes/heals from Vera.

Default behavior, the default, is mostly the best choice. In fact it is almost always the BEST choice to leave the defaults as you find them and change setting only when you know exactly what the setting does and exactly why you need to change the setting and deviate from what is the best option for the vast majority of installations.
