Feature Request: Autogenerated Off Scenes
(1/1)
325xi:
Currently in most cases I create a pair of scenes - one On and another Off. Besides the fact it's not very convenient, there's a presentation problem - if a room already had many devices and scenes, the Off scene may be placed far apart from the On scene which makes it hard to find and also look ugly.
I would suggest the following:
- when creating a new scene to have a check box for "create Off scene automatically"
If checked, Vera would mirror the scene with opposite values for the same devices
- because Vera knows these two scenes are logically linked, it could display them together, or even add some "bubble" around them to show they're a pair

@325xi
Im not sure on the proposed implementation, but the basic functionality request i support.
Im thinking of this as a ON/OFF button. Click once for ON, click again for OFF, maybe thats easier?

Actually using some lua code should do the trick as @aa6vh mentions here on his Emergency light code:

If lua supports this, coding it into simple pull down menus / tick boxes shouldnt be a problem?

New here, so looking around at various posts on scenes etc to get my head around how the overall system works/get some ideas.
I've split the house into three sections (floors of the house), then various rooms within those sections, so the dashboard section which covers one of the lounges has a couple scenes and the various modules in place, mainly lighting. I can see how it can get messy with various scenes, modules etc. But FWIW I've noticed that the scenes, modules etc all appear in alphabetical order - whilst the checkbox idea doesn't seem to be in place yet (unless I've missed it) you can keep on/off scenes that are related beside each other by naming them appropriately. For example, I have a simple "display cabinets off" and "display cabinets on" scene which sit side by side.
Just a thought for a temporary solution.
