I really can't wait. Remoting into a computer at home and upgrading remotely.  I'll post after on my experience. So far sounds like there isn't any problems!

Update complete.

Took me about 3 minutes before I saw the update complete message.  Reloaded the system and everything is working.

About the same time for me, too. The security issue seems to be fixed, but I am having a weird "Save" problem that might be related to caching (in IE). Don't have time to dig deeper right now:

How does one upgrade to the latest firmware?

When I go to Advanced>Downloads, I see Running Version:, and Latest Version: 1.0.278

There's no version number shown in the "Running Version" field.

Unless my Vera updated automatically (!) I should need an update, but it also says

"You are running the latest version."

Confused.

You have the latest if it says you are currently running 1.0.278.  Did you receive yours in the last day or two?  Maybe it came with it?

I am having major problems with this update with Z-Wave control.  I lost all ability to control any of my z-wave devices using Vera.  I tried deleting one of my z-wave devices and re-adding it again, but Vera doesn't detect any new devices.  The only add device option that keeps appearing in my list is to add a IP Camera.  If I add the camera, the camera is added to my list but the option to add a IP Camera reappears.

I have tried resetting the device to factory defaults, but that fails to do anything.  I also tried power cycling and even the hardware reset button on the back, but both don't do anything as well.

This is embarrassing.  Our guy who is setting up the new build server put it in 'release' mode rather than test mode and it built a firmware and propagated it unintentionally.  There is not supposed to be a 278 firmware.  I'm since adding a lock to prevent that from happening again.  The 278 firmware was live for about 30 minutes before we noticed and removed it.  It was an intermediate build and didn't have all the kernel modules compiled in and is non-functional.  If your Vera system got the 278 firmware, you have to go to 'Advanced', Download, and put this url in the input box at the bottom:

http://download.controlmyhouse.net/firmware/wl500gP-1.0.262.trx

and then click the 'download' link underneath.  You can choose 'save your settings'.  That will go back to the 262 version.  We're testing today a new firmware release to fix several issues users reported.

I was able to successfully downgrade the firmware and z-wave devices are working again.  Thanks.

Would you want any of us to actually use this test release and give you feedback?

Well, other than not being able to control my Z-Wave device (sorry to say I currently only have one), it would say this firmware had some definate improvements, but alas, one of the big reasons for having Vera to begin with doesn't work.

Reluctantly, I'll be loading the previous firmware...

Anything anyone wants me to test before I revert to the previous?

The firmware will be up very soon with an announcement on the site and release notes.  The 278 was an embarrassing mistake.  It wasn't meant to be released; it wasn't even complete.  We got the new build server up, which is what we'll be giving members of the community access to if they want source code and to tweak, and we forgot to change the configuration so it propagated new firmware to a 'test' location only.  Instead, it just propagated the first build that came out.

I know you all are concerned about the acidental release of that firmware, but I personally think that things like this will happen once in a while.

I was happy to see that you all are working on the issues franticly!

Thank you.
