Newbie Question: Best way to suspend a Scene
« on: July 04, 2011, 08:40:37 am »
I've created a scene that I only want to activate when I'm traveling - it turns the lights in the house on and off to simulate occupancy. What's the best way to suspend operation of the scene when I'm home.

[...] way to suspend operation of the scene when I'm home.
Also, easy to overlook, the timers and events that drive a scene can be disabled (there's an 'Enabled:' check box).

Additionally, there's the notion of a Virtual Device, which can be used for Home/Away scenarios. There are some recent threads on that topic; here's one.

The Virtual Device plug-in can be found in the repository, scroll down to 'Virtual StateDevice', with some links to relevant threads.
