Vera Google Home Control
« on: April 14, 2018, 12:43:09 pm »
Are there any plans for Vera to support Google Home Control?  Side note, please don't respond with Vera Concierge, it doesn't work, and the developer doesn't respond to queries.

If not, what are some other options?  Does Samsung Smart things work well?

  • HA ≠ IoT as a blue sky is cloudless.

Google Home is going towards a cloud to cloud solution which means that local controls will be tedious. For the Vera to work, it needs to go through the Vera server which is the concierge. Amazon Alexa has not done this and a Hue emulator still works as a bridge. The Smartthing is an almost all cloud device so it will work though I encourage you to read up about it. I am fundamentally biased towards going away from anything cloud based for reasons of speed, security, reliability, privacy, etc...
openLuup (79 devices, 141 scenes, 19 apps) master to VeraPlus (142 zwave nodes, 8 Zigbee nodes, 221 devices,  20 scenes , 2 apps) +  Hubitat (15 Zigbee nodes) + Home-Assistant (API Integrations). Bridged to Siri and Alexa. Homewave. VeraPlus ExtRooted and mios server independent.
