FIBARO FGS-212 connecting to garage door
« on: April 24, 2018, 05:23:49 am »
Hello guys, Ive just enrolled a Figaro FGS-212 relay on My Vera 3 to use the dry contact as a momentary switch to open/close the garage door. I have managed to program the parameter 4 for 3 seconds but the problem I'm having is not knowing what state the door is. Any suggestions?

Hi thief, add a tilt sensor to the garage door?

Possibly, but a tilt sensor is designed to do this job and doesn't require a separate magnet. Positioning the magnet and the sensor could be very difficult, depending on your door construction.

I'm using a NeoCoolCam Door Sensor to do the job, since my garage door has a single contact doing up - stop - down sequence.

You'd eventually choose a Fibaro Universal Sensor in the future, with a reed contact, just to minimize the use of battery powered devices.

NeoCoolCam Door Sensor is working very well for me and it's really inexpensive.
Vera Edge, Fibaro FGRM 222 (12), Fibaro FGS 223 (20), Fibaro FGS 222 (5), Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor (2), Fibaro Plug (3), NeoCoolCam Door Sensor (3), NeoCoolCam PIR (1), Nest (3), Raspberry PI running my own integrations, Harmony Hub, OpenSprinkler, Personal Weather Station
