AlertMe SmartEnergy Reader/Hub
« on: November 27, 2011, 11:33:56 am »
Hi,

Has anybody had a look at integrating the AlertMe SmartEnergy hub into Vera? It seems to be retailing at £50 including display and a clamp.
I also read they are now opening an API to make use of the hub and it will seemingly connect via RJ45 wired ethernet.

It also seems to support Zigbee power metering enabled sockets, and the clamp + a number of sockets would probably give me what I want.

Any thoughts?

So far so good. The system goes together well and appears to be reporting to their servers.

I came across a perl script which can be used to query their servers using their API to control devices and return information.
(seems a roundabout route but...)

So if I was to incorporate this into some Lua I should be able to determine temperature and power utilisation for the various devices...
