want to see if doors are closed before arming
« on: June 15, 2018, 02:14:58 pm »
I have had some trouble recently with arming the system before going to bed (Night mode) and I check that all the doors are physically closed. But the alarm goes off after the 20 second delay. The notification tells me the door sensor was either "changed state" or "tampered", but in reality, neither of these things happened. Is there a way to put a state of sensors (individual or even better "all closed") indicator on my dashboard?

You can mark your sensors as favorites, then they will appear on the dashbord in favorites section.
Or you can try to work with Panel Manager plugin, which allows you to create virtual device containing data from several different physical devices (i.e. status from all sensors).

By the way, if sensor is already triggered when changing mode, it should not start an alarm. Of course you'll get notification as you say (changed state).

This is how I did it.

I used a Multiswitch and PLEG to check and display the status of all the door / windows sensors.

And some LUA code in my Away scene to first check the status of the Multiswitch before "arming".

I did this on my dashboard but I want to combine them into one "indicator" that all sensors are in the door/window shut position. I was trying the Combination Switch plugin. But I'll try your idea of the Panel Manager.

I don't find a "Panel Manager" plugin. Is that the correct name?

I've never heard of that plugin before.

Could this be it?

You're right, it is virtual panel plugin. Panel manager is device it creates where you manage your panels

I wonder if the Imperihome mobile app supports this Vera plugin?
