flite for VeraLite is available from http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ramips/packages

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/usb.audio - or use a Squeezebox player or a Sonos player to play the output file ...

Not tested on Vera V3,  but should work. IIRC, flite is the biggest package from the repository (7 MB). So it might be more feasible to run the synthesis on a separate machine ...
