Title: LG 3 wire home automation hack
Post by: doinitsideways on October 15, 2018, 07:18:52 pm
Hi,

My experience with vera is purely plug and play, I?m hoping someone out there might have a read of this article and be interested in trying to get it to work with vera?? I?m happy to purchase the required hardware and assemble it, but I?m lost with any type of coding know-how... even happy to send a little cash for anyone?s help if we can get this to work??

Did you take a look at this WiFi Module? Not sure it will work with your system.

Link missing ???

Last time I checked there wasn?t anything off the shelf that supported 3 wire or zoned ducted systems...

Andrew from instructables here (Author of the interface hardware/code).

I have joined up on the Vera forums and I have subscribed to this thread to help you out  ? Hopefully we can work together to get you a solution but it is going to need some input from some people that know more about Vera than what I am prepared to learn.

In essence you are trying to find a simple solution to a technical problem and I don?t think it exists.  What My code will do is handle all of the physical interface and commands needed to be sent to/from the AC ? That is done and working.  What you need to investigate is how to interface to Vera i.e It?s ability to send and receive commands.

Clearly it supports TCP based connections of some sort as it can interface objects on a LAN.  I linked you to a MQTT plugin that will interface directly with my setup to give you control over the AC but with the limitation of one way comms (the Plugin does not support subscription to a topic, only publishing so anyone changing settings via the control panel would not be updated in Vera).  At the moment I see this as your best bet - Maybe someone is willing to add to the code to allow subscriptions?
