Title: Feedbot Rss/Vera Status/Audio Dashboard - Possible???
Post by: onepointbrewing on October 06, 2017, 09:00:58 am

I was thinking that it would be really cool if some smart person could generate a pruned down XML output from Luup requests to Vera for Alexa to read the current status of select Vera devices using Feedbot (or a custom XML reader skill) which could be posted from an intermediate PC on a timed basis (1m/5m) to a cloud drive (Gdrive/Dropbox etc)

This idea essentially would create an Audible dashboard that Alexa could read when asked (it would be cool if it is used as a "whats my briefing" rather than using the feedbot wakeword.

I have no programming experience so I have to defer to some smart person to be able to write this but I do think its a cool idea.

1:PC does numerous Luup Requests of preconfigured Vera device statuses (http://ip_address:3480/data_request?id=status&output_format=xml&DeviceNum=6)
2:Posts results in XML in a file on a cloud drive
3:Feedbot is set up to access this XML file on a cloud drive (possibly has to be public unfortunately)

Alexa ask feedbot to read my feed (better if its under "alexa whats my briefing" cos then it can be ordered with news etc)

Alexas response:
SENSOR 1 is Armed
SENSOR 2 is bypassed
Back Door is closed
Front Door is locked
SENSOR 3 is 29.4 degrees
 etc etc

I do hope someone may be able to create this - it would be a game changer for Vera/Alexa in its functionality
